    Hi Friend:

    Welcome to my academic website.

I am a social epidemiologist doing research on population health inequities and injustices. The research questions that I am most interested in involve the associations of key social resources such as health care and education with the health of diverse North American populations.
I am particularly interested in developing understandings about the relative disadvantages experienced by diverse groups that can be marginalized or oppressed in various ways: such as the under- or uninsured, the poor and people of color.

It is my hope that this work will be a part of enabling policy decisions that are informed less by the mere ebb and flow of political tides and more by what is truly known about the human condition.

My research team and I are presently working on a series of cancer care comparisons between Canada and the United States: "Associations of personal and community resources with cancer care in Canada and the United States, 1985 to 2015." I am also working on a book "The skewed curve: Social solutions to America's social problems."

We are very interested in supporting graduate and undergraduate student research. Our scholarly network includes social and biomedical scientists as well as practicing physicians, social workers and allied health professionals. So we can support a number of professional, social or natural scientific programs of study.

Perhaps we will work together one day.

    Semper Fi,

    Kevin Gorey
