In the spotlight:
UWindsor success at recent NSERC and SSHRC competitions:

The University of Windsor is celebrating success in the recent NSERC and SSHRC postgraduate scholarship competitions, with the majority of students winning the prestigious Canada Graduate Scholarships valued at $35,000 per year (Doctoral), and $17,500 (Master's).
In addition,
Srimantra Ray (left), a graduating doctoral student in Environmental Engineering, has been awarded an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship valued at $40,000 per year for 2 years. Two more 2010 NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship winners, Jennifer Foote and David Wilson, are currently working in Dr. Dan Mennill's lab at the Department of Biological Sciences.
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada provide financial support to the most outstanding high-calibre students pursuing Master's or doctoral studies.
The Faculty of Graduate Studies congratulates all winners and their research supervisors!

Graduate Studies Events in September 2010
The annual orientation workshop for new GAs and TAs in all faculties and departments will be held on September 8, 2010 from 1pm to 4:30p.m. in room 100, Toldo Building. CTL is also offering a GATAcademy workshops for GAs and TAs in the Faculty of Science and FASS - details on CTL's web-site
Department of History M.A. student Sean Morton won the John Flint Prize for the best paper/presentation at the Dalhousie Graduate History Society's conference
Former Dean of Graduate Studies Sheila Cameron received an honorary doctorate from McMaster University
