Welcome
This web page has been created to provide faculty and staff with information about the areas of insurance and risk management at the University of Windsor.

It will include/provide information on the following TOPICS:
1. Reporting accidents/incidents on campus (see below)
2. Insurance Programs and Coverage
3. FAQ’s - Answers to frequently asked questions
4. Student Events/Field Trips
5. Vehicle Rentals and Insurance
6. Newsletters

The other goal of this area of the University’s web site is to prompt all members of the campus community to be aware that we all need to be a "risk manager", of a sort and should all be responsible to maintain control of the University’s assets and have a safe environment for everyone on campus.

The overall responsibility for the areas of insurance & risk management at the University of Windsor is managed in various ways. There is no central department to oversee this program in it’s entirety. There is a Risk Management committee whose members include representatives from Finance, Occupational Health & Safety, General Counsel, Physical Plant, Residence Services, Campus Police and Human Kinetics/Athletics.

RISK MANAGEMENT-WHAT IS THIS?
Risk Management, as an activity combines the service areas of: public safety, environmental and occupational health and safety, hazardous waste management, WSIB claims administration and insurable risk underwriting (administration of policies).

Accidents/Incidents on campus:
In the event of an accident or incident involving an injury or crime, you should first report it to Campus Police - the emergency number is 253-3000 x 4444 or x1234 for a non emergency. The office is located at 320 Sunset Avenue. A constable will attend to the situation and take a comprehensive report and forward it to the appropriate University department.
