Privacy and Confidentiality of Alumni Information

Your Privacy is Our Responsibility
We consider your privacy to be of the utmost importance therefore all alumni information (including mailing and e-mail addresses and telephone numbers) is held in the strictest confidence by the Office of Alumni Affairs.

The Alumni Association and the university occasionally contact alumni by mail, e-mail and phone with information on alumni events, services, and opportunities to support the University of Windsor. For example, VIEW Magazine, and our electronic newsletter, Alumni e-NEWS is distributed to alumni and friends of the University of Windsor.

You may also be contacted if a former classmate has asked for assistance to re-connect with you, but under no circumstances is information is released without your permission.

Affinity Partner Contact
A number of benefits and services are available to University of Windsor alumni, many of which are provided through corporate partnerships developed by your Alumni Association. In addition to providing services to our members, affinity partnerships also generate revenue to support programs undertaken by your Alumni Association. A committee of alumni volunteers meet regularly to carefully review these partnerships and determine how the funds are spent.

As a direct result of alumni participation in these affinity services, your Alumni Association is able to fund student scholarships and awards programs and numerous other initiatives in support of students and alumni.

On occasion, the Alumni Association authorizes its affinity partners to conduct direct mail or telemarketing campaigns. The Alumni Association has strict confidentiality agreements with bonded third-party firms who act as our agents for the sole purpose of conducting these marketing campaigns. At no time is confidential information released directly to affinity partners. If alumni so choose, they can opt out of any or all affinity service communications.

UWindsor On-Line Community
The UWindsor On-Line Community is for individual communication of a personal nature between its alumni and student members, and also for official Alumni Association use. Use of the features of this site, including the directory, for any other purpose, including, but not limited to, reproducing and storing in a retrieval system by any means, electronic or mechanical; or using the addresses or other information contained in this directory for any private, commercial, or political mailing, is strictly prohibited and is in direct violation of copyright and constitutes misappropriation of corporate property. Information and web site links provided by members reflect the personal and professional interests of the members themselves. They do not necessarily reflect the opinions, interests or views of the University of Windsor Alumni Association.

While we promise to take action on your decision promptly, please be aware that there may be a slight delay in communicating your wishes to all affinity partners as information for marketing campaigns is often downloaded from our system well in advance.
