Highlights
The Windsor Lancers Basketball Summer Camp is one of the most popular camps in southwestern Ontario.
Lancer Basketball Camps are committed to offering an environment where fun, learning and competition go hand-in-hand in developing a successful basketball player. Lancer Head Coaches Chantal Vallee and Chris Oliver have worked over 80 basketball camps combined, in the United States and Canada and they are confident that they will supply a practical and fun learning experience that players will enjoy.
The Summer Developmental Camp is a 5-day camp that will emphasize the development of fundamentals and game play. Players will leave this camp with improved skills and a better understanding of the game. Teaching sessions at both camps will be run by Coach Oliver and Coach Vallee. Each camp will be divided by age and skill levels with skill competitions, fundamental teaching sessions, special guest speakers, 5 on 5 and 3 on 3 game play and swim days. All campers will receive a Lancer logo basketball and a camp t-shirt.

Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball Head Coach - Chris Oliver
Chris Oliver is the Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball program.
A two-time OUA West Coach of the Year, Coach Oliver led his Lancer squad to a
17-5 record in 2007-08 and their second straight OUA West Division Title.In 2006-07,
Oliver's squad had a tremendous year as they captured the OUA Provincial
Championship title and qualified for the CIS National Championship tournament in Halifax.
That year, he led the Lancers to an impressive 16-6 record and the OUA West
Division title. In the playoffs, Oliver's Lancers captivated the campus and community
alike as they knocked off Guelph, McMaster and defending national champions,
the Carleton Ravens to capture the Wilson Cup.While at the University of Windsor,
Oliver has been honoured with the Fox 40 OUA Coach of the Year Award, the OUA
West Men's Basketball Coach of the year twice and the Gino Fracas Award as the
Windsor Lancers Coach of the Year.
Oliver's coaching background has also seen him serve as an assistant coach at McMaster University under Joe Raso
for six seasons. He also served as an assistant coach at the University of Victoria under the legendary Guy Vetrie while
completing his National Coaching Certification Program Level IV certification.
A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Chris has enjoyed success at every level. Oliver has helped with Basketball Canada's
Sr. Men's National team regional camp and coached a number of teams within Basketball Ontario's developmental program.
He has also served as the Head Coach for Ontario's Under 16 team and an Assistant Coach for Ontario's Under 19
and Under 17 teams.
One of the brightest young coaches in the CIS, Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from McMaster University,
a Bachelor of Education degree from Brock University, and a Master's in Physical Education and Coaching Studies from
the University of Victoria.
Oliver is also an NCCP master course conductor for basketball and does a number of clinics throughout Ontario each year.

Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball Head Coach - Chantal Vallee
Chantal Vallee enters her fourth season as the Head Coach of the Windsor Lancers Women's Basketball program.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Chantal served as the Head Coach of the Vanier College Women's Basketball program for three seasons prior to coming to Windsor. During that time, she led Vanier to a considerable resurgance, as they were ranked as high as number five nationally in 2005.
Her commitment to player development at Vanier College led to 6 of her players moving on to play in the NCAA, four playing in the CIS and one of her current players, Dranadia Roc, becoming a National Team Member.
In 2007-08, in only her third season at the University of Windsor, Vallee led the Lancers to their best record in program history. During the second half of the season, the Lancers went on an 8-game winning streak as they earned a third place finish in the tough OUA West Division, and their first home playoff game in program history.
In the playoffs, Vallee's Lancers captivated the campus and community alike as they knocked off Laurier and Western to earn a berth in the OUA West Final - also a program first.
Before taking over at Vanier College, Chantal served as an assistant coach for two seasons at McGill University with their women's basketball program. She also spent a season as an assistant coach at the University of British Columbia. Vallee has also served as the Head Coach of the Quebec Provincial team that won a bronze medal at the 2002 National Championships in New Brunswick.
She is also the coaches with the Canadian Athletes in Action program, a team comprised of CIS players that competed in Poland and the Czech Republic last summer.
Chantal is a certified level 3 NCCP coach and has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Quebec-Montreal and a Master of Physical Education degree in Coaching and Sport Psychology from McGill University.

Frequently Asked Basketball Camp Questions
1) What should my child bring to Camp?
Campers should bring basketball court shoes, t-shirt, shorts, athletic socks and a swimsuit and towel. A buffet style meal plan is available for an extra cost, however, should you choose to pack lunches, a non-refrigerated lunch would be required. (Absolutely no peanut products Please)
2) How many counselors are there per camper?
There is a 1:10 coach to camper ratio in the basketball camp.
3) Do the counselors have experience working with children?
Most of the Varsity basketball players have experience working summer sports camps or practice sessions with younger players.
4) How do you divide the participants into groups?
The younger grouping of 8 to 11 years old will be divided into two divisions by age... 8 & 9 year olds and 10 & 11 year olds. The older group will be divided by gender and age... 12 & 13 year olds and 14 to 16 year olds.
5) How competitive is the camp?
The camp is an instructional program that develops individual skills and team concepts. Daily league games and skills competitions are an important feature of the camp and can be competitive
6) What are the requirements to be a counselor?
The counselors are either current or former University of Windsor Varsity Basketball Athletes. Most of our councelors will be certified in CPR C, First Aid, and have current police clearances.
