The "Centre for Catalysis and Materials Research" was established at the University of Windsor as a research centre with both short- and long-term goals relating to production processes, properties and applications of new materials of interest to Ontario and Canadian industries. Building on the presence of internationally recognized leaders in the fields of organometallic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry and solid state materials the expertise of "The Centre" was broadened with new faculty. The research programs of these new positions were supported in part with ORDCF funds over a five year period from 2001-2006. In this case, $1.2M obtained by leveraging the industrial support of an NSERC-IRC. This funding was distributed to support graduate and undergraduate research assistants. |
