Memorial of Hope
The Memorial of Hope is a collaborative effort of the Womyn’s Centre at the University, the Windsor Women’s Incentive Centre and the University of Windsor. Support from the community is invited in terms of supporting this project which stands as a beacon for all who advocate for a non-violent world.

Thee memorial enhances the existing smaller metal and concrete installation which generates a greater impact and presence. It stands prominently in the centre of campus, at the busy intersection between Essex Hall and the main quad.

The Memorial of Hope consists of 14 memorial pillars, each one in honour of a life lost. The 14 stones centre on the original, smaller installation. Benches invite viewers to sit and reflect. Columns at each entrance tell the story of the 14 women, reveal the cost of violence and, for those who may be experiencing violence currently in their lives, it offers hope.
