| Iona College is housed in a stately building on the northern edge of the University of Windsor campus. Iona College was established in 1964 as a United Church of Canada College affiliated with the University of Windsor. It’s named after the Isle of Iona, in the Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. Over the years, Iona has played an important role in serving the needs of people from the university, church, and community. Iona is home to the United Church Chaplain, the United Church Resource Centre, and the Hoffman Auditorium. In addition to the School of Languages, Iona College has the School of Theology which offers a Bachelor of Theology degree with its partners, Huntington University, a federated member of Laurentian University, in Sudbury, Ontario, and the Ecumenical Theological Seminary (ETS) in Detroit, Michigan. Iona also offers certificates and diplomas in Lay Theology and Rural Ministry, in conjunction with The United Church of Canada. Iona is a unique institution established to link the university, church and general communities.
