Essex Presbytery Resource Center Library
The Essex Presbytery Resource Centre is a reference centre, lending library, and small bookstore combined. Books for Iona College courses can be ordered through this service. You are invited to review the services we offer and to contact us for any assistance you may require.

Your Resource Centre Provides:
A LENDING LIBRARY. We have videos and printed resources  for worship,
study, church leadership, Christian development and other programming.
This includes copies of most United Church divisional publications. Videos
may be borrowed for 1 week, books for 3. The library is primarily  for the use
of United Church members in Essex Presbytery.

A BOOK STORE. We stock United Church publications, including   marriage,
baptisim, confirmation and other certificates. A modest selection of books
featured in the UCRD catalogue are always on hand, as well as selected
children's books and books for peronal study. We stock an NRSV and a
GOOD NEWS version of the Bible in quantity for confirmation classes. Iona
students may order their textbooks   through our sevice.  Course instructors
will normally order books at   least 2 months in advance of classes.

AN ORDERING SERVICE. We place an order by phone with the UCRD/United
Church Resurce Distribution in Toronto every Thursday around 1 p.m. We are
able to order for you anything  in the UCRD catalogue or Booklet "By popular
Demand" will attempt other books if   you can provide the title, author, and
publisher or ISBN No. Ordering   through the Resource Centre saves shipping
and handling charges. NOTE: A 10% restocking fee will be charged for items
ordered and either not  taken or returned.

BOOK DISPLAYS. For special events at your church or program event,
please give us at least 4 to 6 weeks.

CONSULTATION. We enjoy working with you to search out resources for
program, worship, or personal use.

HISTORICAL JESUS BOOKS  The Essex Presbytery-United Church Resource
Centre houses special library and video resources on behalf of Iona College
related to the question of the Historical Jesus.  These resources are available
to the public and may be borrowed under the same terms as other materials.
We also have books for sale distributed through the Snowstar Instutute.

HOURS: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The above hours are from Tuesday after Labour Day through the second week  
of June. Other times are by appointment.
