Trend Micro OfficeScan anti-virus software provides protection against not only viruses, Trojans, worms, hackers, and mixed threat attacks but also spyware and other types of grayware. A spyware is a program that monitors and gathers user information for different purposes. Spyware programs usually run in the background, with their activities transparent to most users. Many users inadvertently agree to installing spyware by accepting the End User License Agreement (EULA) on certain free software. Grayware is a general classification for applications that have behavior that is undisclosed or that some may find annoying or undesirable. Grayware encompasses spyware, adware, dialers, joke programs, hacking tools, remote access tools, password cracking applications, keyloggers, data miners (tracking cookies) and any other unwelcome files and programs apart from viruses that can harm the performance of computers on your network.
