The University of Windsor Bookstore is pleased to make our Espresso book making machine available to the Windsor-Essex community.
Installed in December 2011, this elegant device occupies only 25 square feet but is capable of printing, collating, binding and trimming a perfect-bound quality paperback in less than five minutes.
The University of Windsor’s Espresso Book Machine is one of only 70 (or so) currently operating in North America. Windsor’s acquisition of the Espresso follows the lead of prestigious American universities like Yale and Harvard, and world-class Canadian universities like Toronto and Alberta.
All these universities are drawn to the Espresso because the machine makes it possible for scholars to print and bind single copies or very limited editions of classic works AND groundbreaking new work.
We are a eager to work with members of our Windsor-Essex community who want to publish their own works, whether that be novels, memoirs, cookbooks, family histories or whatever the customer desires.
The Espresso machine is perfect for printing and binding short runs of meeting notes, conference proceedings and other official documents. Some Espresso operators have reported an unexpected demand for blank books. We can print blank books, too!
Clients are encouraged to visit the Bookstore while their books are being printed to see the machine in action, and to be the first person to handle the first printed copy of their book.
