Law students treated to Breakfast with Bruce

Treating students to breakfast is just another way to learn what they're thinking about, says dean of law Bruce Elman.

He joined members of his faculty and staff in a casual breaking of bread, bagels, and danish with students in the law school's Windsor Commons yesterday morning for an event known as
    Breakfast with Bruce.

"We try all sorts of techniques to keep in touch with the students," Elman said, pointing to a number of initiatives of the Office of Student Services under the leadership of assistant dean Francine Herlehy, including the newsletter
Windsor Law Matters, the peer mentorship program, Windsor Law Ambassadors, Day of Caring volunteer opportunities, and the Dean for a Day contest.

Most recently, Elman launched a blog, called
University @ Sunset, on the Windsor Law Web site.

Students said they appreciated the effort at communications and community-building. Third-year law student Caia Wojnarowicz said Elman offered her some "good career advice" during the breakfast.

"I feel like he really listens to us," she said.
