    Windsor Law Best at OTLA Cup

    The Windsor Law Moot Court team comprised of counsel -- Tiffany Canzano and Jason Burns, both Law III students -- and two witnesses -- Miriam Villamil, Law III and Gavin Wolch, Law I -- won the Bergeron Clifford Award for the Best Team in the recently held Ontario Trial Lawyers Association Moot Court Competition. The team was coached by Francine Herlehy '89, Assistant Dean (Student Services).Tiffany Canzano was also the recipient of the Will Barristers Award for Best Opening and the Tim Boland Award for Best Overall Advocate.

    The 2010 Ontario Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) Cup was hosted by the University of Windsor on Saturday, March 5, 2010. The Honourable Justice Steven Rogin '71 presided with volunteers from OTLA sitting as jurors. The Windsor Law team represented the plaintiff in a complex personal injury matter. The jury found in favour of the Plaintiff and awarded substantial damages. Not only was the Windsor Law team successful in the verdict, it also received three of the six available awards.

    A special thanks to guest judges who assisted with practice rounds, including Michael Coughlin, Gregory Monforton and Paul Howard.
