External Borrowers

An External Borrowers Card allows people not affiliated with the University of Windsor to borrow books and videos from the Leddy Library.

Who can apply

External Borrower Cards are available at no cost to the following groups, with the presentation of appropriate identification:
  • University of Windsor Alumni
  • Canadian University faculty, students and staff
  • U of W Giving Campaign members
  • Visiting Professors and Post-Doctoral Fellows of Canadian institutions
  • St. Clair College faculty
  • Lambton College faculty only
  • Wayne State University faculty
Adult residents (18+) of Essex, Lambton, and Kent counties may purchase an External Borrowers Card:
  • $ 20.00 for 4 months borrowing privileges
  • $ 50.00 for 1 year borrowing privileges
How to apply

Application for an External Borrowers card must be made in person at the Leddy Library Circulation Desk and must be accompanied with photo-identification and proof of address.

What is it good for?

Your External Borrowers card allows you to borrow only books and videos from the Leddy Library. External borrowers can also use their library cards to use Library computers that require a login.

Please be aware that external borrowers are not able to use their library card to access online library journals and research tools from off-campus or use Interlibrary Loan services.
