Sheet Maps
The Leddy Library receives all new and revised NTS 1:250,000 scale, NTS 1:50,000 scale, and MCR series paper maps. We also have most of the ceased NTS series, such as the 1:25,000 scale series. From the Ontario government, we have OBM 1:10,000 scale print maps for Essex, Kent, and Lambton counties. We also have the entire OBM 1:10,000/1:20,000 scale series on microfiche. For the United States we have the 1:24,000 scale topographic series and the 1:100,000 scale planimetric series. In addition, the collection includes Geological Survey maps, some aerial photography, census, navigation and soil maps, as well as Windsor area maps.
The print map collection is located on the Ground floor of the main building. Some maps are catalogued and can be found in the Library Catalogue. Others can only be found using the map cabinet guide posted near the collection. Most maps may be borrowed for 14 days.
Atlases and Gazetteers
Some atlases and gazetteers are located in the reference collection on the 1st floor of the Main building. The oversized ones are housed in special shelving on the east side of the floor. They do not circulate.
The remainder of the atlases and gazetteers are either in the circulating collection or in the government documents collection. Most of these do circulate.
All atlases and gazetteers are catalogued and can be found in the Library Catalogue.
