Abstract (100 words or less): | | The Sensitivity Equation Method is developed for value and shape parameters in complex flow problems: Navier-Stokes equations, Laminar and turbulent flows, flows with variable physical properties, and fluid-structure interactions. Its various uses are illustrated with computational examples: Optimal design of electronics cooling, identification on key parameters controlling the flow, and for cascading input uncertainty through the CFD code to yield uncertainty estimates of the flow response. Computational results obatined by an adaptive finite element method will be presented. |
