Weekend reunion to celebrate anniversary of visual arts education
Profesor emeritus Iain Baxter& will deliver a keynote address to open Intersections: 50 Years in Production, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the School of Visual Arts, on Friday, September 3.
The festivities begin in the gallery in the LeBel Building at 7 p.m. Friday with a reception and an exhibition of works by graduates. The art is offered for sale, with half the proceeds going to the artists and the other half benefitting student scholarship programs.
"We really hope to see faculty and staff on Friday night," said organizer Julie Sando. "It's free and a chance to get some great art and support students at the same time."
The event continues Saturday, with an open house and art sale in the gallery, and a formal renaming of the LeBel Gallery at 6 p.m.
