The Student Counselling Centre is offering two new group sessions this fall to help students manage their stressful lives.

Both groups are free for UWindsor students and run from September 24 to December 3.

The Mood Group treats depression and anxiety, and will help students understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Topics include understanding depression and anxiety, beating procrastination and avoidance, improving communication and assertiveness, and improving problem-solving and decision-making.

The Mind-Body Group was developed in partnership with Campus Recreation at the St. Denis Centre. Yoga instructor Mary-Jo Rusu will teach students how to use some of the tools of yoga and meditation to promote well-being for mind, body, and spirit. You don't have to twist your body into the shape of pretzel or wear a special outfit—just wear comfortable clothing, relax, move and breathe yourself into feeling more calm and ready to cope with whatever life throws at you. During the second half of the class, Christina Andreescu will teach helpful ways to manage stress, anxiety, and depression.

For more information and to reserve your space, contact Rosemary Plastow at the Student Counselling Centre 519-253-3000, ext. 4616, room 293, CAW Student Centre.
