Workshop to discuss leadership in education for GAs, TAs, and sessional instructors
Leadership can take many forms. Graduate assistants, teaching assistants, and sessional instructors often display leadership in teaching within their disciplines. The Centre for Teaching and Learning invites instructors and GAs and TAs to attend Leadership in Teaching for GAs, TAs, and Sessional Instructors, Friday, March 26, 10 a.m. to noon in room G137A, Lambton Tower.
This session will explore the questions:
- What does it take to be a good teacher as a GA, TA, or sessional instructor?
- What does it mean to be leader in this context?
The workshop will be facilitated by a panel of GAs, TAs, and sessional instructors who have been recognized as good teachers, innovative practitioners, and leaders in their fields. This forum provides an opportunity for attendees to share their own practices and gain insights into how others deal with the everyday realities of teaching in these positions.
