COMMUNICATION STUDIES

Honours Communication Studies

Total courses: forty.

Major requirements: twenty courses including 40-101, 40-234, 40-275, 40-300, plus one of 40-202, or 40-225, or 40-257, plus fifteen additional courses, at least five of which must be at the 300 or 400 level, and at least two of those must be at the 400 level. (40-398, 40-399, 40-498 and 40-499 do not count as fulfilling the 300 and 400 level requirements.)

Option requirements: six courses including
(a) two courses from Arts;
(b) two courses from Languages or Science;
(c) two courses from any area of study, excluding Social Sciences.

Other requirements:
(a) 01-150, 01-151**;
(b) four courses from any area of study, including Communication Studies;
(c) eight courses from any area of study, excluding Communication Studies.

**Students who have completed a minimum of twenty semester courses prior to Fall 2008 are not required to take 01-150 and 01-151. Such students, who opt not to take 01-150 and 01-151, will be required to substitute any two courses from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, for which they are eligible.
