GENERAL UNDERGRADUATE REGULATIONS
General Mathematics
Degree Requirements
Total courses: thirty.
(a) MATH1020, MATH1250 or MATH1260, MATH1720 or MATH1760, MATH1730, MATH2780, MATH2790, MATH3590, STAT2920 and STAT2950; plus four other MATH or STAT courses at the 2XXX level or above.
(b) COMP1400 and COMP1410;
(c) four courses from the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences;
(d) three courses from any area of study, including Mathematics and Statistics;
(e) eight courses from any area of study, excluding Mathematics and Statistics.
Courses used to calculate the major average are: courses listed under requirement (a), and any courses taken in the major area(s) of study.
Honours Mathematics
Degree Requirements
Total courses: forty.
(a) MATH1020, MATH1250 or MATH1260, MATH1720 or MATH1760, MATH1730, MATH2250, MATH2251, MATH2780, MATH2790, MATH3200, MATH3580, MATH3581, MATH3590, STAT2920, STAT2950; plus eight more MATH or STAT courses at the 3XXX level or above.

(c) four Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science courses at the 2000 level or above, excluding COMP2057, COMP2067, COMP2077, COMP3057 and STAT2910.

Combined Honours Mathematics Programs
Degree Requirements
Honours programs combining Mathematics with a second Honours area of study (other than Computer Science) will consist of:
Total courses: forty.
(a) Mathematics and Statistics: MATH1020, MATH1250 or MATH1260, MATH1720 or MATH1760, MATH1730, MATH2250, MATH2251, MATH2780, MATH2790, MATH3200, MATH3580, MATH3581, MATH3590, STAT2920, STAT2950; plus two additional MATH or STAT courses at the 3XXX level or above.
(b) Course requirementsOther Subject: courses used to calculate the major average in the other subject area, as prescribed by that area of study.
(c) COMP1400 and COMP1410;
(d) any additional courses as determined by the second area of study;
(e) additional courses, if necessary, from any area of study to a total of forty courses.

Minor in Mathematics
A minor in Mathematics can be obtained upon completion of six courses from the following list, with a minimum grade of 60% in each course: MATH1020, MATH1250 or MATH1260 or MATH1270, MATH1720 or MATH1760, MATH1730, MATH2250, MATH2251, MATH2780, MATH2790, MATH3XXX, MATH4XXX, STAT2910 or STAT2920.
Minor in Statistics
A minor in Statistics can be obtained upon completion of six courses from the following list, with a minimum of 60% in each course: (a) MATH1250 or MATH1260 or MATH1270, MATH1720 or MATH1760, MATH1730 and (b) three courses from STAT2920, STAT2950, STAT3XXX, STAT4XXX.

PROGRAM REGULATIONS
All programs in Mathematics are subject to the general University and Faculty of Science regulations as outlined in the relevant sections of this calendar. Additionally, Mathematics majors must obtain a 60% or better in each Mathematics or Statistics course which is explicitly required in their program of registration. Students registered in the combined Mathematics and Computer Science Honours program also must obtain at least 60% in all required Computer Science courses.
