The Zhang laboratory is a group of dedicated researchers who study hearing and related neural mechanisms. One of our major research interests is to find how acoustic information is represented in the mammalian central auditory system. We also investigate how hearing problems such as tinnitus are generated as a result of structural and physiological abnormalities in the central auditory system. We use neurophysiological/neuropharmacological, neuroanatomical, immunohistochemical, western blotting, and animal behavioural methods in our research.
