Welcome to WIE
Women in Engineering & Computer Science

Welcome to the Women in Engineering and Computer Science webpage for the University of Windsor. We are a group of Women in technical disciplines supporting each other and encouraging women to consider these technical fields. We are trying to work against the intimidation many women feel by these fields by enhancing personal enrichment and professional growth.
Thank you for taking your time to get to know about our group. Our groupWIE(Women In Engineering and Computer Science) is one of the 16 student branches of IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The affinity group established here at University of Windsor is the “Student Branch” level, which means that it mostly covers the student concerns. There are other levels such as Section Level, which would include the South East Michigan section. For the last few years, many students have attended and volunteered in WIE activities such as career planning workshop, health care and nature healing seminar, academic research experience discussion and outdoor gathering. Being encouraged by our team spirit and sense of engaging in technical fields, many students are supporting us and devoting their energy to make our group strong and amazing.
If you are a female student in Engineering and Computer Science, here is an invitation especially for you. We warmly welcome you to become one of our family members. Your participation will make WIE a more active group. We are expecting more Engineering students involved in the committee. If you are interested in joining us, please contact the chair at zengx at uwindsor.ca
