ENGLISH LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, AND CREATIVE WRITING
General English Language and Literature
Total courses:
thirty.
Major requirements:
twelve courses, including:
(a)
26-120, 26-210, and 26-211
(Students are encouraged to take
26-210 and 26-211
in their first year.);
(b)
26-260 or 26-270;
(c) one other 200-level course;
(d) one course from each of Categories A through E.
Option requirements:
six courses, including:
(a) two courses from Social Sciences;
(b) two courses from Languages or Science;
(c) two courses from any area of study, excluding Arts.
Other requirements:
(a) 01-150, 01-151**;
(b) four courses from any area of study, including English;
(c) six courses from any area of study, excluding English.
**Students who have completed a minimum of twenty semester courses prior to Fall 2008 are not required to take 01-150 and 01-151. Such students, who opt not to take 01-150 and 01-151, will be required to substitute any two courses from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, for which they are eligible.
