Honours Modern Languages and Second-Language Education with Two Languages Options*
*Students who successfully complete this degree are eligible for the Certificate in Second Language Education.

Major requirements
: twenty-seven courses, including
(a) 07-120, 07-220, 07-137, 07-237, 07-337 and 07-202 or 07-203;
(b) 07-320, 07-321, 07-420;
(c) six language training courses in each of the two chosen language option areas;
(d) two of the following culture and civilization courses in each of the two chosen language option areas (15-260 and 15-261; or 21-260 and 21-261; or 23-260 and 23-261);
(e) one additional culture and civilization courses in each of the two chosen language option areas.
Option requirements:
six courses including
(a) two courses from Social Sciences;
(b) two courses from Arts or Science;
(c) two courses from any area of study, excluding Arts.
Other requirements
:
(
a) 01-150, 01-151**;
(b) four courses from any area
of study, excluding Modern Languages;
(c)
one further course from any area of study, including Modern Languages.
**Students who have completed a minimum of twenty semester courses prior to Fall 2008 are not required to take 01-150 and 01-151. Such students, who opt not to take 01-150 and 01-151, will be required to substitute any two courses from the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, for which they are eligible.
